REMEMBER ME

For Fritz in honor of "Mom"

Remember the me you've known so well
when me is so ever hard to find
in the recesses of my own mind

Remember, too,
there is nothing in this world
big or strong enough
able to separate a soul
from love firmly rooted
in the very heart of God

Memory eludes me now,
so let the photographs of your memory
bring to life the time we've shared ~
weeping with the sorrows
and laughing with the joys
that remembering brings to heart and mind

Life on this side is but a wisp ~
with all its trials and its triumphs,
a time of preparation
to ready us for what is yet to come

Be of good courage and know,
just as you are, I am at rest
in the Everlasting Arms of Love
that will surely see us safely Home

Look past my faltering mind
to see inside my soul
and remember the me you've known so well
that loudly proclaims in unison with the Father

"I've loved you always,
     and love you now,
          and will love you forevermore"
