Journey in Prayer 3/30/2000 - 3:30AM -

With God's tender rod and faithful patience to teach me truth, I realized there truly is not one person that has ever lived with the exception of Christ alone who has not shared the same plight in life.   Because of humanity's act of rebellion against our God, our fate has been such that we are all a product of a spiritually broken family - we are divorced from God and likewise are all illegitimate.  Not one of us has a rightful claim to God's inheritance with the exception once again being Christ alone.  How pious to look upon anyone in pity or condemnation for their stance in life when ours is in all actuality no better!  From the beginning of time, it was our sin that has separated us from God and there is nothing we can do to change it; we made our choice and we chose death.  Thank God He was willing to change it for us, for He was the only One able to do so.

All of this led me into another awesome, yet humbling, journey in prayer ...

As I prayed, laying prostrate on the (bathroom) floor, images of individuals - friends, family members as well as countless others who were faceless and nameless and then peoples and nations - all were flashing before my heart's eye and I saw with that same eye the pain and agony; confusion and anguish; war and destruction being suffered by all these people.  Is there any peace for them?!?  (God whispered to me that it is only going to get worse.)  Oh God, how can You stand to see Your beloved creation suffer so?!  It was then that I found myself as one with Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane as Jesus fervently prayed before being offered up as a sacrifice for us.  It was not me but Christ in me praying and interceding for us taking all of the pain and agony; confusion and anguish; war and destruction - OUR SIN - OUR DEATH - that which I had just seen, upon Himself to once and for all take it to the grave and render it powerless.  During the time which I witnessed this my body shook with uncontrollable sobs and all I could get out of my mouth was 'Thank You, JESUS! - Thank You, JESUS! - Thank You, JESUS!'.  I half expected to see drops of blood on the floor before me as a result of the intensity of His prayer.  In our history the actuality of this event occurred 2000 years ago but I fully believe that for Christ it was timeless for He continues to intercede on our behalf before the Throne of God with the same fervor and intensity until we shall find ourselves gathered unto Him for Eternity.

My part? - Our part? in all of this?

In as much as 'we' are one with Christ, we are called to share in His suffering and sacrifice through intercession to bind and heal the broken hearts in the world and to make all who desire become legitimate heirs to God's Heavenly inheritance.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, let us all unite our hearts, drop to our knees and join our Lord to pray His people Home!  Today is the day of salvation - for tomorrow may never come.

THANK YOU JESUS ! ! !
