"Inspirations"

These "inspirations"  have come as a result of my Lord's gentle teaching over the years and I am honored to share them with you. I pray that they may be a vessel through which God can touch your heart with a special blessing as you read and reflect prayerfully upon them.

May God be Glorified!

Teach us to pray ...

Journey in Prayer ...

4/10/2006 9:41PM
Oh, Father, God - Abba, Father...So much pain down here.  Bring Your healing hand to these lands as You pick those who are Yours up into Your loving Arms and carry us Home.  It is truly time - isn't it?  Thank you for these eyes through which I can taste and see Your reality.  In all else I have flat-line emotions, but when I peer out through Your Eyes I share in Your pain and want to love with Your compassion and the weeping that comes I cannot contain.  Please, Lord, reach down through me today and all days until You come like a thief in the night to bring to a final end the treachery our sin has wrought.  How could we have shamed You and dishonored You so???!!!  Oh, the human heart - so desperately wicked!!!  Only You have seen it - our total existence - from beginning to end - and have borne it upon Yourself for always.  All of it, how we would hate You - NO! despise You; shame You, trample on Your Name in word and deed and yet You still loved us anyway!!!  Why???  How???  And then You brought it to the grave and back again just to give us another chance at Your eternal Love.  We are so very undeserving of any of Your abundant Grace - we deserve nothing but Your wrath and the death that would come of it.  Humble us Lord God.  Show us Your Way and may we never look away from You again.  This is the final hour of prayer - teach us to pray, Father, in a way that will bring us to our knees in humble adoration speaking volumes to the remaining lost that they, too, will look up toward Heaven and find that which their souls are seeking.  You and You Alone.  The world is closing in; our enemy knows his end but will fight with fire until the bitter end when he will be eternally engulfed in flames taking all he can with him.  Remind us, precious Lord, that when we first identified ourselves with Your Name, You gifted us with all the power of Heaven to combat our vicious enemy who lives and rules in his domain - the world in which we are now only aliens passing through to the New Jerusalem.  But the feast has not yet started and the invitations have not been answered by all those who will attend.  Give us the grit needed to bear down and fulfill our place in this here and now - to draw together all of those our Jesus prayed for and continues to pray for until He sees us Home.  Do not let us shame You any longer with our rituals and public prayers, but meet us God in our private prayer closets as we beseech Thee in spirit and truth, that Your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven; that we may be witness to that moment when our Christ proclaimed, "It is finished."

(This was an actual prayer and as often happens, I pray the Word to God so there are scriptural references within the body of the prayer, following are the references:
1. "For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night." 1 Thess 5:2 NAS
2. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
3. "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;" John 17:9 NAS
4. ""But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:6 NAS
5. "Your kingdom come Your will be done,On earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10 NAS
6. "Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, " It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit." John 19:30 NAS)
