I KNEW YOU NOT

In My Heart,
There is a void you never filled
But by My will I brought you forth
Free to live as you saw fit

My love for you has never waned
From whence I wove you in the womb
With joy and pride,
In witness I stood by,
While the Breath of Life
Brought forth your borning cry

Because a vow I made and kept unbroken
I walked your life in stride beside you
Laughing and weeping
In all your times of joy and sorrow
Yet never abiding, Mine you never knew
With blind eye,
You simply looked right through Me
Keeping from Me
All that you are left unspoken

Though I was with you all along
You chose to walk the way of earth
Bound and burdened
Under its heavy deathly curse
With deaf ear,
You could not hear My fervent prayers
That you'd come Home where you belong

The Book of Life was written
In My sacrificial Blood
Where every soul created,
And on that day redeemed,
Had its name inscribed upon
The very pages of my Heart
Waiting for the glorious day
When blessed faith would come to claim it
Leaving in its place
A void, where unclaimed names have been erased

Now on that day of reckoning
A day that's sure to come
You look at Me and wonder
What it is you haven't done
I close the Book and thus My Heart
Your name I could not find
In solemn words, I render judgment
"Depart from Me, I knew you not"
